Snow White
~Original Design~
made: August 2006
worn at: Dragon*con 2006

about: This is an original design based off the Grimm's Fairy Tale "Snow White and Rose Red". I wanted the designs to be cute and girly, but somehow reminiscent of traditional German clothing of the mid-1800's.

I selected a beautiful velvet for the outfits, with matching pale organdy for the under pieces, and topped them all with antique gold accents. We were very picky about having everything match. I constructed the corsets, shirts, shorts, spats, and overskirt. Jia assembled the flower arrangments on skirts and headdress and painted the adorable bear scenes on the front of the corsets. The skirts are sewn with a connected petticoat of 8 layers of gathered organdy and organza - you can see the alternating blue and gold layers at the front of the skirt. There are matching ruffles running along the sides of the shorts. The spats and corsets have delicate gold beading.
